Master of Accounting Program (MAcc)

The Master of Accounting Program at the University of Oregon is designed specifically for those wishing to find employment in management positions that require accounting knowledge, as well as those with plans to advance their careers in accounting at government, public, or private institutions. The program of study, which helps students fulfill the requirements necessary to take the CPA licensing exam, includes five general business electives, five core accounting classes, two accounting electives, two one credit hour seminars on Developing the Business Professional, optional attendance at the half-day June mini-orientation, and obligatory attendance at the four-day September orientation. Core courses for the MAcc include Taxation of Business, Accounting Measurement and Disclosure, and Financial Statement Analysis, while the accounting electives cover topics like International Accounting and Taxation of Pass-Through Entities.

Accountancy and Master of Business Administration Graduate Major (A-MBA)

Oregon State’s integrated Accountancy and Master of Business Administration Graduate Major (A-MBA) program is one of the most flexible accredited accounting degree programs in Oregon. Offering a one-year MBA program of study for accountancy undergraduate majors, and a two-year program for those without an undergraduate degree in accounting, OSU’s A-MBA helps students fulfill the requirements for taking the Certified Public Accountant licensing test. Students complete 57 total credits in accounting courses, including 36 undergraduate and 21 graduate courses in accounting, plus 24 business and related credits for the MBA. After completing the 45 undergraduate credits, A-MBA students take 16 credits during the fall semester, 12-16 credits in the winter, and 13-17 credits in the spring for the one-year accelerated plan of study.
